Eighty Four, Penn. — An 8.7% growth in year-over-year sales has earned 84 Lumber a spot on Forbes magazine’s 2016 list of America’s Largest Private Companies.
With $2.504 billion in 2015 sales, 84 Lumber came in at number 177 on the 223 companies. 84 Lumber is one of only two building product suppliers in the country (Menards is the other at number 37) to be included in Forbes’ annual ranking.
“Being a private company allows us to quickly seize opportunities, which has resulted in 84 Lumber’s resurgence following the housing downturn, with sales increasing by more than $1 billion since 2011,” said Maggie Hardy Magerko, President and Owner, 84 Lumber Company. “We are one of the only building material suppliers in the country to be expanding our footprint, opening manufacturing facilities, and hiring at a rapid pace. At the core of 84’s success is exceptional service and people, and this recognition from Forbes is a tribute to the commitment of our more than 5,000 hardworking associates across the country.”
84 Lumber was also recently named on Forbes’ 2016 list of America’s 250 Best Mid-Size Employers.
