84 Lumber announced the company has been recognized on Forbes’ America’s Best Large Employers 2025 list, ranking 34th in the industry. The nation’s largest privately held supplier of building materials is among the 701 companies awarded the distinction after a thorough survey and review. The list was announced on Feb. 12, and is presented by both Forbes and Statista Inc., a statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
Forbes and Statista selected America’s Best Employers 2025 through an independent survey from a vast sample of over 217,000 U.S. employees working for companies employing at least 1,000 people within the U.S. Over 6.5 million employer evaluations were considered. The final score is based on two types of evaluations: personal (those given by employees themselves) and public (those given by friends and family members of employees, or members of the public who work in the same industry), with a much higher weighting for personal evaluations. More than 6.5 million employer evaluations were considered. The complete list of companies awarded the distinction can be found here.
“At 84 Lumber, our success is built on the dedication and hard work of our associates, and being named to Forbes’ America’s Best Large Employers 2025 list is another testament to that,” said 84 Lumber owner and CEO Maggie Hardy. “Our company is a place where people learn and grow together. This recognition belongs to each and every associate at 84 Lumber.”
84 Lumber last received Forbes’ Best Employer recognition in 2019, 2017, and 2016.
