Jonesboro, Ark — Ron Bellas has announced his plans to retire at the closing of E.C. Barton & Company’s fiscal year in October.
Bellas serves as Vice President of Store Operations for Bargain Outlet Stores. His counterpart, Kevin Pierce, serves in the same role for Barton’s and Surplus Warehouse stores. Following Bellas’ retirement, Pierce will oversee store operations for all three divisions.
Bellas is a Crystal Eagle recipient, celebrating his 40th anniversary with the company earlier this year. He has also been a member of the board of directors since 2015.
“It’s been a privilege to work with and for Ron,” E.C. Barton & Company President and CEO Steve Brimner said. “He was an integral factor in my on-boarding with the company, as well as the Bargain Outlet acquisition. He is a true leader and has made immeasurable contributions to this great team.”
Pierce has been with the company for 11 years. He joined the team as Assistant Controller for special projects and was quickly named a District Manager. A year later, he was tapped to serve as vice president for store operations for Barton’s and Surplus Warehouse stores.
“Kevin has proven himself with the Barton’s and Surplus Warehouse division,” Brimner said, “and the plans we have for our stores will also be aided by having a single person at the helm of all eight districts. Ron has been working with Kevin over the last few months to ensure a smooth transition.”
Founded in 1885 at a grocery store, E.C. Barton & Company now spans 17 states from New York to Texas and has 102 stores. The company operates as Barton’s Lumber in eleven stores located in Arkansas and Missouri; 54 Surplus Warehouse locations from Texas to North Carolina and 37 Grossman’s Bargain Outlet locations in New England and Ohio.
