San Marcos, Texas — McCoy’s Building Supply has announced the promotion of Brandon Bishop to director of merchandising – commodities.
“I’m excited about developing deeper relationships with other key leaders within McCoy’s and throughout our industry in my new role,” said Bishop. “I believe our industry is built on strong relationships that come from constantly learning and moving forward.”
Bishop, a graduate of Tarleton State University, began his McCoy’s career in 2008 working in the lumberyard at the company’s Stephenville store. He went on to become assistant manager before moving to headquarters and joining the Merchandising Department. He has held various roles in merchandising including forest products buyer, commodity & freight manager, and commodity program manager.
“We have so many talented people in merchandising who work collaboratively with our operations team by selecting the best products, cultivating relationships with trusted suppliers, and negotiating competitive pricing for each of the categories that we manage,” said Bishop. “Merchandising is constantly evaluating these factors for each product line to maintain our best in class service to our customers.”
Headquartered in San Marcos, Texas, McCoy’s employs 2,500 people and operates 88 stores, three distribution facilities and two millwork facilities in Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Mississippi and New Mexico.
