Building products distributor BlueLinx Corporation has a new corporate office to call home. BlueLinx announced that it has established a new home in the Marietta, Ga. neighborhood just north of Atlanta.
BlueLinx now occupies the 3rd and 4th floor the Corporate Plaza Building at 1950 Spectrum Circle in Marietta, Georgia. The location overlooks SunTrust Park, home of the Atlanta Braves, and has easy access to the interstate. The space was designed by Cooper Carry Inc, an architectural firm in Atlanta. The move of over 330 associates took place over a single weekend, and the design features an open, functional space.
“We are delighted to have made the move to our new headquarters,” said Mitch Lewis, president and CEO of BlueLinx Corporation. “While only about a mile from our old location, the new location is modern and efficient, and we were able to reduce our required space by over 50%.”
“Even though we reduced our foot print, the space still allows for flexibility and growth as needed in the future,” Lewis added.
According to BlueLinx, modernization was a key aspect of the move. Examples of this are the motorized desks that allow associates to stand and sit as desired, new teleconference equipment for meetings and a brand-new training space.
“Besides the motorized desk the new building also offers a gym our associates can use at no cost and open green space,” says Alex Averitt, chief operations officer. “These are a big part of our wellness initiative.”
BlueLinx’s new headquarters will support its more than 55 distribution centers across the country.
