Boral Composites Inc. is expanding its popular Boral TruExterior® Siding Craftsman Collection™ with the addition of a Bevel profile, a contemporary style combining the popular look of traditional bevel or clapboard siding, historically seen with cedar and redwood, with the high-performance benefits found in the poly-ash material.
Boral TruExterior Siding is the industry’s first and only poly-ash siding, offering a range of performance benefits that improve on both wood and wood-alternative siding products. As a result of its blend of proprietary polymers and fly ash, a byproduct of coal-energy production, the highly durable material is low maintenance, dimensionally stable and resistant to moisture, rotting, warping, cracking, splitting and termites. At the same time, the siding’s workability exceeds that of wood and, unlike most siding products, it can be used in ground-contact applications and does not require edge-sealing.
The newest profile, Bevel, extends the Craftsman Collection into a contemporary, mainstream realm, with an authentic taper and shadow line that aren’t typically found in fiber cement or wood composite siding products.
“Since entering the siding market last year, the Boral TruExterior story has resonated with builders, remodelers and installers, who appreciate the Craftsman Collection and its ideal combination of features: the wood look customers crave without the associated hassles,” said Tom Zimmerman, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Boral’s Light Building Products Division. “Now building pros have even more design options—our Bevel profile offers a true-to-life appearance other siding alternatives just can’t claim.”
Bevel Siding is currently available in a 6” nominal width, with 8” and 10” nominal widths coming soon. The siding easily accepts paint of any color, including darker hues, and installs with standard woodworking tools and a variety of fasteners. Boral TruExterior Siding is made in the USA, contains a minimum of 70% recycled content and carries a 20-year limited warranty.
