DeckWise Ipe Clip

DeckWise Ipe Clip

DeckWise® Hidden Deck Fasteners with stainless steel reinforcement are tested to be up to 3x stronger than other unseen deck/patio fastener systems. Our unique and patented design offers quick and easy installation, while giving both do-it-yourselfers and expert decking contractors a smooth, fastener-free surface.

Unlike most all-metal hidden deck fasteners, which can react with wood causing staining, the Ipe Clip® is molded of a malleable plastic polymer resin coating (further adding UV & chemical resistant qualities), allowing for the natural expansion/contraction of wood decking.

Our rigid stainless steel insert firmly holds decking to joists eliminating decking screws from pulling through as the deck material expands.

Designed with exotic hardwoods in mind, the color of the plastic resin also works to further camouflage & conceal our fasteners between the board gaps for a more sleek, upscale surface. Available in “Hardwood Brown”, “Composite Grey” or “Shadowline Black” to match the desired look of your exotic hardwoods, thermally modified wood, PVC or composite decking.

The Ipe Clip® line of deck fasteners were designed to prolong and enhance the performance of hardwood, PVC, and composite decking. By combining innovation with common sense, you get deck fastening systems that directly address your specific deck install needs.

Using kiln-dried material? The ExtremeKD® offers 1/4″ [6,35mm] gap spacing and maximum hold even when the boards expand.

Whether installing air or kiln dried hardwood, thermally modified softwood, composite or PVC decking, we have the appropriate fastener with at least three different gap spacing options for your particular decking. For example, air dried decking material will tend to contract on its width more than kiln dried material so a smaller gap space between boards is required. These deck clips are installed with one side of the decking board free to contract and expand on its width as needed.

Our complete fastener kits can be ordered in multiple combinations of clip colors, screw types, lengths and head colors, screw bits and tips, gap spacer sizes, as well as face screwing and leader board wooden hole plugs.

Planning on building a deck with air-dried decking hardwoods? With 3/32″ [2,38mm] gap spacing, the Extreme® hidden deck fastener has got you covered.

Unsure of what decking you want to use, but know you want tight gap spacing? The Extreme S® gives you 5/32″ [4mm] gaps between boards and works with air or kiln-dried as well as PVC & composite decking.

In fact, every product in the Extreme® line of deck fasteners does the job right the first time and works with nearly every brand of composite, PVC and hardwood decking materials and are constructed from three U.V. resistant colors to match any decking material with a stainless steel insert molded inside the clip that make them the most durable fasteners on the market today.

Ipe Clip® Hidden Deck Fasteners were developed with deck builders in mind. We wanted to make the deck building process easier and faster. With the Ipe Clip® Hidden Deck Fastening system you need half the fasteners that are required with traditional “face screwing” methods.

Additionally, the ability to run screws at a 45 degree angle through hardwoods greatly increases hold-down strength. Studies have proven that screws have more holding strength when installed on an angle. This method also maintains even gap spacing while properly allowing boards to expand and contract with the seasons.

Our hidden deck fastening system allows all the work to be completed from the top-side of the deck which will save on labor costs as compared to “under-side” hidden fastener installations. It is a system we’ve developed to be easy to install that can help extend the life of your hardwood decking and assures not only a great looking deck but also one that is safer and more structurally stable.

Kit combinations can be ordered in variations of 100 pieces and complete 175 kit counts. Plus, decking screws can be mixed and matched for different lengths, color and style. Visit Deckwise.com to learn more.
