Detering Company named among top workplaces in Houston

HOUSTON, Texas — The Detering Company announced that it was named a Houston Chronicle 2022 Top Workplace. The award recognizes the top organizations in Houston that provide great benefits, compensation, and a unique company culture. This is the 13th year The Chronicle has published a list of Top Workplaces, and the first that Detering has been recognized.

“Being recognized as a ‘Top Place to Work’ has long been an aspiration for me and our company,” said Carl Detering, chairman and owner. “Credit goes to our outstanding team for accomplishing this breakthrough achievement,” he added.

On the 2022 list, The Detering Company is ranked 79 among the 100 places in the “Small” category, which includes companies with 149 or fewer local employees. Rankings are based on feedback given by associates and returned in an anonymous survey each year. According to the Houston Business Journal there are over 119,000 small business in the Houston Area. The Detering Company has 110 employees based in their main facility near downtown Houston.

Detering services builders, remodelers, and homeowners in a 90-mile radius of Houston. The Detering Company also has a second millwork location, Weatherford Door & Window, in Bryan, Texas. South Texas Brick & Stone is Detering’s sister masonry distribution company that has locations in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.
