ECMD, Inc. acquires Falls City Lumber

North Wilkesboro-based ECMD, Inc. announced it has acquired Falls City Lumber Company. Established in 1985, Falls City Lumber is a full-service specialty wholesale distributor of boards, pattern stock, fiber cement, and PVC products servicing retail lumber yards in Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, and West Virgina. Falls City Lumber is headquartered in Louisville, KY, with operations in Cincinnati, OH.

“ECMD’s strategic plan calls for significant growth to come through acquisition as our industry continues to consolidate”, said Kelly Hendrix, president and CEO of ECMD, Inc. “Our ESOP structure allows ECMD to be uniquely positioned to add privately owned companies into our portfolio. This allows founders and business owners, who want their employees and their legacy honored, to flourish and grow for decades. We continue to build a world class employee experience where our employee owners share in the financial success through 100% stock ownership, having a voice in improving operations and building a work environment that allows ECMD to be an employer of choice.”

“The fit between our two companies is a great match,” said Bill Kronauer, Vice President of Falls City Lumber. “Joining the ECMD portfolio of companies creates a stable future for Falls City Lumber employees and allows our customers to continue to enjoy the unparalleled service we have provided them for nearly 40 years.”
