For the sake of the panel’s discussion, moderator Tony Misura of The Misura Group set the parameters for what defines whether an organization is big or small. Anything over $500 million is big, the panel agreed. Also agreed is that whether a small business or a large one, the object is the same: take care of customers and employees and grow the business. Panelists from both the large and small groups said that they see more consolidation on the horizon. While any merger needs to focus on winning at a local market level, all panelists agreed that an increasing focus in the next five years will be on technology and finding the right staff and leadership.
