Humboldt Sawmill Company, in the heart of the California North Coast, has traditionally been associated with premium-quality redwood lumber products, including decking and timbers. However, the company also supplies one of the key product lines in many LBM dealers’ stocking mix: Douglas-fir. Moreover, Douglas-fir from Humboldt Sawmill carries a particular distinction—certification to the standards of the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC® C013133).
An independent, non-profit organization, FSC® membership consists of three equally weighted chambers—environmental, economic, and social—to ensure balance and the highest level of integrity. FSC® certification ensures that wood and paper products come from responsibly managed forests that provide environmental, social and economic benefits. FSC® certification and standards are widely considered to be among the world’s most stringent.
Humboldt Sawmill sources its Douglas-fir logs from 440,000 acres of company-owned timberlands, and an additional 400,000 acres are available under a long-term log purchase agreement. Douglas-fir products are manufactured at company-owned sawmills in Scotia and Ukiah, California. Finished goods are available direct from the mills, as well as through company-owned distribution locations in northern and southern California, Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. Customer orders ship via rail and truck.

- Joists and planks are available in 3-inch and 4-inch dimensions in lengths up to 24 feet in a variety of grades.
- Posts and beams are available in 6-inch and larger dimensions, up to 12 inches x 24 inches, and lengths up to 24 feet in a variety of grades.
