The Lumbermen’s Association of Texas (LAT), a nonprofit trade association representing Texas’ building materials industry, announced former president Walter Foxworth died in early August. Foxworth was the former owner of the Foxworth-Galbraith Lumber Company.
“It is with deep sadness, that we inform you of the passing of Walter Foxworth, LAT President, NBLMDA Director, LAT Dealer of the Year, inaugural Texas Unity Dinner honoree and LAT Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, on Friday, Aug. 2, 2024.
Walter was a treasure—he was our friend, our colleague and torchbearer for generations of LAT members.
We have shared our condolences with his family and have expressed our desire to be helpful as they plan his memorial service. Once plans are finalized, we will share them with the LAT and NLBMDA memberships.
This is an extraordinary loss and we will miss him, his passion for this industry and his advocacy on behalf of all of us.”
Foxworth retired from his role as Chairman-emeritus at Foxworth Galbraith Lumber Company, a division of USLBM, in 2022.
Foxworth served as President of LAT’s Board of Directors in 1990, was recognized as “Dealer of the Year” in 1993 and had over six decades of volunteer engagement.
