Garris Evans Lumber makes $50K donation to aid hurricane relief in Western NC

In the wake of the recent hurricane that devastated communities across Western North Carolina, the Garris Evans Lumber team has come together in a meaningful way to support recovery efforts. To empower their employees in giving back, Garris Evans Lumber provided each of them with $500 to donate to an organization of their choice. The response was overwhelmingly generous, with two-thirds of our team choosing to support Samaritan’s Purse, an organization at the forefront of hurricane relief in the region.

Their collective generosity resulted in a $50,000 donation to Samaritan’s Purse, helping to fuel ongoing recovery efforts and provide critical assistance to those in need. Many of the team members also directed their donations to other vital organizations in North Carolina.
This initiative reflects Garris Evans Lumber’s unwavering commitment to supporting their communities in times of need.

On Jan. 6, 2025, they captured a special moment with some of their team members involved in this heartfelt endeavor, a testament to the power of collective action and compassion. Kurt Feldmeyer Regional Director of Samaritan’s Purse accepted the check, thanked the team, and invited them to become volunteers.
