Shepley Wood Products Sponsors Community Blood Drives.

Saving another person’s life—it’s probably the most rewarding act a person can do for another. Few things match up to such a courageous deed, and fortunately, there are a lot of volunteers who look for ways to help other people in any way they can. That’s why when Mass.-based Shepley Wood Products realized they could provide a service to save lives, they jumped at the opportunity.
More than 10 years ago, an employee at Shepley sparked the idea of working with Cape Cod Healthcare to sponsor a blood drive—having been a donor herself. Since Shepley has more room to accommodate the hospital beds and equipment necessary for a blood donation than the hospital’s standard donor room, it was a perfect fit.
Now, every two months Shepley uses its facility to arrange a blood drive for the community.
“Our meeting/training center is occupied for an entire day,” says Tony Shepley, owner of Shepley Wood Products. “Our event staff cleans and prepares the room the day before, and then re-assembles it the day after. We also dedicate time to marketing by sending out multiple e-blasts and posting signs around our facilities.”
