KENNEBUNK, Maine—Hancock Lumber Company recently opened the doors at a new facility in Kennebunk, the company announced in a press release to SeaCoast Online. After eight months of site work, building demos, and constructing a 30,000-square-foot facility, the new space is open for business featuring a built-to-deliver drive-thru lumberyard and warehouse, an interactive hardware store, and a modern, fresh kitchen and bath design showroom.
Company President Kevin Hancock said, “We are very excited about our new Kennebunk store. The project was three years in planning, and we feel the facility represents a fresh, modern approach to retailing and distributing building materials. The store is designed around people. We wanted the facility to be a great place to work, a great place to plan projects and select building materials, and a fast and easy facility for picking up products.”
Hancock Lumber’s Kennebunk facility is designed for builders, do-it-yourselfers, and homeowners alike to shop easily and efficiently. The hardware store features a large, open showroom enabling easy access to products and assistance from the staff. Just off the showroom, customers can walk directly into the indoor lumberyard where products are stored in a bright, clean, modern drive-thru facility; all building materials are now stored undercover, protected from the elements. Connected to the main showroom is the Home Again design center, featuring professional kitchen designers and a showroom full of inspiration to dream and design your new space. The logistics office for shipping and receiving product is situated at the rear of the facility for efficient and accurate deliveries.
“Maine has so many great contractors who base their reputations on quality and efficiency. Our store is designed to support their activity and become a place that can link the material supplier, the builder, and the homeowner,” said Mark Hopkins, Hancock Lumber’s retail division COO added.
