The demand for energy efficiency, performance, and resilience has never been higher in the home remodeling and building materials industry.

“Our company is based on delivering service to our customers. We were beginning to outgrow our Greenwell Springs facility when the opportunity to purchase Ed Price Building Materials became available. Their company was run like ours with family values and service in mind,” said John Holmes.

Holmes Building Materials was founded more than 50 years ago in Baton Rouge as Holmes Brick and Salvage. In the 1980s John Holmes, third generation owner, grew the business into Holmes Building Materials. The family-owned and operated company has since expanded to three retail locations, two showrooms, and a door manufacturing facility.

“The new space gives us much more land, retail space, parking, and warehouse space along with direct access to rail transit. It will help our business run more efficiently as well as give us plenty of room for future growth,” said Matthew Holmes, John Holmes’ son, and fourth generation owner of the family business. The current Ed Price location will undergo a complete remodel and will remain open through the transition.
