Huttig Financial Results Show Growth

Huttig LogoST. LOUIS— Huttig Building Products, Inc., today reported financial results for the second quarter ended June 30, 2015.  Net sales in the second quarter of 2015 were $175.1 million, representing a 4% increase over net sales of $168.7 million for the prior year’s second quarter, the company announced in a release. Income from continuing operations was $5.4 million in the second quarter of 2015 compared to $3.4 million for the prior year’s second quarter.

Jon Vrabely, President and CEO said, “We are pleased with the continued improvement in our financial performance that we achieved in the second quarter compared to our prior year. The residential housing market is growing, but continues to lag most 2015 industry forecasts. Despite lower than forecasted market growth, through the continued execution of our strategy, we were successful in growing our revenue and gross profit while leveraging the investment we have made in the business over the past several years.”

Huttig, currently in its 130th year of business, is one of the largest domestic distributors of millwork, building materials and wood products used principally in new residential construction and in home improvement, remodeling and repair work. Huttig distributes its products through 27 distribution centers serving 41 states.
