Jim Kurtz, co-founder of Alpine Lumber Company died Thursday, Dec. 3. He was 88 years old.
Kurtz entered the LBM industry at Independent Lumber in Montrose, Colo. In 1956 he was named president and director of the company, a position he held until the company’s sale to Boise Cascade in 1978.
In 1983, Kurtz and his siblings formed Alpine Lumber Company. The Denver Post has a full story.
