Jackson Lumber & Millwork has acquired E.G. Barker Lumber of Woburn, Mass. Headquartered in Lawrence, Mass., with additional locations in Amesbury and North Andover in Massachusetts, and Raymond, N.H., Jackson Lumber & Millwork has been owned and operated by the Torrisi family since 1946. Over the years, the company has grown significantly and now serves Greater Boston, the North Shore, and Southern New Hampshire as well as the Merrimack Valley area.
The acquisition of E. G. Barker Lumber, with it’s close proximity to Route 93, will allow Jackson Lumber & Millwork to better serve their greater Boston customer base.
“After 39 years of dedicating my working life to Barker,” said John Denison, President of E.G. Barker Lumber. “I have decided to sell the business and property to Jackson Lumber and Millwork. I considered other options, but I know that this is the best option for our Barker customers, our employees, and myself. Our acquisition by Jackson will increase opportunities for both our customers and our employees.”
Mark Torrisi, President of Jackson Lumber & Millwork said, “It has been a goal of ours for many years to have a location closer to Boston that would allow us to better serve our many customers in Greater Boston. After carefully exploring our options, we determined that acquiring E.G. Barker Lumber would be the best solution for our needs. We are excited about working with the E.G. Barker Lumber staff and leadership as we transition Barker to our Jackson Lumber & Millwork business model, and we look forward to providing all Barker customers with the best possible service and value.”
