Kodiak Building Partners and Jenkins Lumber and Hardware has formed a greenfield drywall and insulation distribution operation, Jenkins Drywall and Insulation (JDI), based in Etna, Wyoming.
Clint Carter, director of corporate development and real estate, and Dave Jenkins, president of Jenkins Lumber, identified the opportunity in this unique market to serve the existing Jenkins customer base, Kodiak announced in a press release.
“Due to the weather and geography of this particular market, JDI will be the most accessible and convenient supplier of drywall, insulation, and related materials within 80 miles,” Carter said.
Steve Swinney, CEO of Kodiak, added that, “While JDI is a standalone operation, it will easily enjoy the benefit of the trusted and well-respected Jenkins name. Building professionals in the Western Wyoming Star Valley and Jackson area have been loyal to the Jenkins legacy for 45 years. This new formation shall serve them for many decades to come.”
JDI will be housed in 10,000 square feet of warehouse space, with a 1,000 square-foot showroom. Dan Wall will manage the company, and Beau Hayes, president of Jones Heartz, will oversee its operation.
