Kodiak expands to Mississippi and Tennessee with acquisition of Sunrise Builders Supply

HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. — Kodiak Building Partners has announced the acquisition of Sunrise Builders Supply. The company, led by President Charles Thomas, has a location each in Mississippi and Tennessee.

Sunrise Builders Supply was founded in Horn Lake, Mississippi in 1996 to provide high-quality building supplies to builders, contractors, and DIY homeowners in northern Mississippi and southern Tennessee. Since its founding, Sunrise has expanded its reach by adding a second location in 2019 in Arlington, Tennessee, and now supplies lumber, engineered wood, trusses, hardware, tools, paint, and more to both area communities.

With a staff totaling over 100 combined years of experience, Sunrise Builders Supply offers support for any size building project and prioritizes its customer service, quality products, and building long-term relationships with customers, employees, and vendors.

“Being part of a national company like Kodiak will provide increased growth opportunities for our business and employees as well as access to new vendors. For our customers, Sunrise will continue to deliver the same premium products and service excellence they expect from us, supplemented by the resources Kodiak can now provide,” said Charles Thomas, president of Sunrise Builders Supply.

“We have long admired Charles Thomas’ leadership and the stellar products, team, and culture that he has cultivated at Sunrise,” said Mike Flood, executive vice president of operations at Kodiak. “We are excited to expand within this market and continue Sunrise Builders Supply’s local legacy. Even as we grow as an organization, it remains vital to maintain our focus on local autonomy and expertise.”
