Lezzer Lumber has announced that its Reading location, managed by Kaethe Huber, has been named the first-ever recipient of the company’s Elite Location Award. This new initiative recognizes the Lezzer Lumber location that exemplifies excellence in operations, facility organization, and overall performance, ensuring they are “Grand Opening Ready.”
The Elite Location Award evaluates each location based on key criteria, including store merchandising, cleanliness, signage, showroom organization, and overall yard and warehouse efficiency. Additional factors such as safety, industry benchmarks, and financial performance to budget also play a significant role in determining the winner.
“When we purchased the store in 2022, it was primarily a hardware and home center-focused store. Converting from that footprint to a pro-focused lumberyard and showroom is not an easy task. It’s amazing what they’ve done in three years here,” said Dave Lezzer, President of Lezzer Lumber. “Kaethe and her team have done a great job merchandising and remodeling this store. The yard crew has done an outstanding job with product storage and cleanliness. It didn’t happen overnight, but they’ve done an unbelievable job, and they are very deserving of this award.”
Lezzer Lumber’s corporate operations staff kicked off the judging process in December 2023, conducting site visits to all locations to assess their progress. The Reading location stood out for its commitment to excellence, with well-organized warehouses, clear signage, strategic store layouts, and high-quality merchandising.
