MARCUS, Iowa.— Marcus Lumber has announced plans to open a new store in Storm Lake, Iowa. The store will be located on a previous lumberyard location. This will be the second location for the 100-year-old family business.
The store will feature a 17,000 square foot home center in addition to an attached drive-through lumberyard. Marcus Lumber is known as the place “where quality and service make the difference” and looks to bring the same strong independent presence they have established in their existing location of Marcus, the company said.
The store is expected to undergo a remodel and plans to open in late spring of 2021 according to Marcus Lumber’s Clay Leavitt, who added, “We are excited to serve our existing customers in the area even better with this location and look forward to welcoming many new customers from Storm Lake and surrounding areas.”
Marcus Lumber will hire approximately 10 associates to work in the new store.
“We like to hire friendly people from the community who genuinely like to serve others,” said Leavitt. Available positions range from management to part-time associates.
A recently-inducted member of the LBM Century Club, Marcus Lumber is a fourth-generation family owned and operated business started in 1920. Today Marcus Lumber operates a 25,500 square foot home center with 40 team members. In addition, the company has full-service plumbing, HVAC and electrical divisions.
