Mid-Cape adds to ‘Fleet of Hope’

Mid-Cape Home Centers
Mid-Cape Home Centers has added two new trucks to its Fleet of Hope.

Mid-Cape Home Centers, a division of US LBM, has announced the addition of two newly-wrapped Trucks-for-a-Cause to their ever growing ‘Fleet of Hope.’ Joining the ranks are a truck wrapped for Big Brothers Big Sisters and one for Mental Health Awareness, which hit the streets just in time for Mental Health Awareness Month.

Mid-Cape recognizes the need for promoting the well-being, mental and social health of local children. Every year the company partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters, a local chapter of a nationwide organization dedicated to fostering one-on-one mentoring relationships, through both annual and event sponsorships. Some of Mid-Cape’s team members are also directly involved in the program as “big brothers and big sisters” to local youth. Extending additional support, Mid-Cape wrapped a Truck-for-a-Cause in honor of Big Brothers Big Sisters and their work to enrich the lives of local children and ensure they are thriving, offering hope for the upcoming generation.

Mid-Cape also wants to help offer hope for those who suffer from depression, anxiety and the toll trauma takes on the mind. Mental health is health. Each year, about one in four American adults struggles with a diagnosable mental health disorder, according to John Hopkins Medicine. Crystal Pieschel, director of marketing at Mid-Cape shares, “Our team takes this reality very seriously. After a team vote to collectively select the next big cause for the company to get behind and fundraise on behalf of in 2022, we have chosen to link arms with B Free Wellness Inc., a local organization transforming people’s lives by providing low-to-no cost services for those whose lives have been affected by trauma, addiction, and oppression.”

Mid-Cape’s newly-wrapped Truck-for-A-Cause is the latest addition to their ‘Fleet of Hope,’ highlighting that mental health is as significant as physical health.

“These issues not only affect members of our community, but first responders as well, who selflessly protect and serve around the clock” continues Pieschel. According to the CDC, each year more firefighters and police officers are estimated to die by suicide than in the line of duty. Support for them in their battle against trauma, PTSD, depression, stress, and more is crucial for the betterment of the local community. “If they are healthy, our community will be healthier.”

Always finding new ways to support their local community, Mid-Cape has partnered with The Cape Cod Foundation and B Free Wellness for this year’s 2022 First Responder Appreciation Day. All proceeds will be donated directly to The Sean M. Gannon Memorial Fund and B Free Wellness, supporting the education of first responders, and aiding them in their fight for recovery and mental health.

On Saturday, June 18, at their South Dennis location, Mid-Cape Home Centers, B Free Wellness, and The Cape Cod Foundation will offer a day of family fun. Pieschel adds, “We’re excited to bring this event back to in-person this year. It will be a day of touch-a-trucks, games, door prizes, food and fun, all benefiting local first responders and their mental health. Also, right now for just $15 at any Mid-Cape location, you can purchase this year’s featured T-shirts, the truck flag or ‘Framework’ beer label, and all proceeds go directly to first responders.
