The North American Wholesale Lumber Association (NAWLA) held its annual tradeshow, the Traders Market, November 4-6, at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas, Texas. Since 1996, the Traders Market has held a unique position among building material tradeshows, focusing solely on the lumber supply chain.
“The Traders Market has become the best time to meet face to face with the people that we grow our business with,” said Matt Hamilton, General Manager of Klumb Lumber Company in Atlanta, Georgia. “The industry needs this event to help deepen relationships and build a level of trust that cannot be accomplished via email or telephone!”
The three-day event attracted 1,472 attendees, a three percent increase over 2014. Representatives from lumber wholesaler and manufacturer firms and providers of related services spent the majority of their time visiting current and prospective business partners on the tradeshow floor.
“NAWLA’s Traders Market is the premier forest products industry tradeshow, and this year’s event was a tremendous success,” noted Kip Fotheringham, Vice President of Hampton Lumber Sales Canada and 2015 Traders Market Committee Chairman. “The feedback we have received regarding the 2015 Traders Market and our Dallas location has been very positive. NAWLA is proud to offer such an outstanding event to our members and the industry as a whole.”
In addition to the networking opportunities available with the nearly 250 companies on the tradeshow floor, attendees learned valuable sales techniques from Jim Pancero and listened to a motivational keynote address by Connie Podesta. Both presenters were well received.
“The educational and opening lunch topics were wake-up calls. We always benefit from meeting our industry partners face to face,” said Carroll Korb, President of Forest Products Distributors, Inc.
The 2016 Traders Market, the 20th anniversary of the event, will be held at The Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada, October 26-28, 2016.
