Dallas — CLT expert Pete Kobelt has joined Structure Tone Southwest as the new director of mass timber.
A cross-laminated timber (CLT) pioneer and evangelist, Kobelt has helped advance the advent of mass timber construction in the U.S. His background includes importing and building several of the first residential and commercial mass timber projects in the U.S. and Caribbean. Kobelt also founded the first CLT manufacturing plant in the country, helping two more factories get started and coordinating the first and largest mass timber student housing project in the U.S.
“We are proud to welcome Pete to the Structure Tone Southwest team, where he will serve as an integral part of the pre-construction process,” says Joseph Cribbin, president of Structure Tone Southwest. “His driven personality and previous experience in mass timber offer insights that will be invaluable to the success of future projects.”
Kobelt is based in the company’s Dallas office.
