PRODUCT PICKS: Decking

Gossen Real Decking

Reàl Decking from Gossen

Gossen Real Decking aims to unite the authentic look of exotic hardwoods with the performance of Gossen cellular PVC. Launched with Brazilian Ipe, a multi-tonal dark brown with variation to make it look nature-made, Real Decking differs from natural Ipe in that it doesn’t require annual oil treatment or sealing to maintain its rich tones, and will not rot or decay over time. Indeed, with the growing popularity of exotic hardwoods, such as Ipe, the company decided to create a line of decking that would mimic the desired look of the hardwoods, but with enhanced performance features that can only be achieved through science. It is offered either in solid planks or grooved for hidden fasteners, which provides homeowners and contractors with flexibility in design. Real is also designed to be lightweight and pre-drilling isn’t necessary, making installation simpler than with Ipe. Real Decking is a standard 5.5″ x 1″ profile in either solid planks or grooved, and will be available in Brazilain Ipe and sold in 12-, 16- and 20-ft. lengths. www.gossencorp.com
