Each month, hundreds of products hit the market. Here’s our pick of the ones to watch for July/August 2014.
Cambridge HD Shingles from IKO
IKO has announced significant enhancements to its best-selling line of architectural laminated shingles. Leveraging the company’s patented color blending technology, Cambridge HD “Nature’s Accents” shingles are available in a palette of colors designed to evoke the national parks and landscapes for which they’re named: Glacier, Sedona, Appalachian, Biscayne and Pacific Rim. While the current Cambridge shingles are based on subtle gradations of similar colors, Cambridge HD explores a much fuller spectrum of color. IKO’s Cambridge HD shingles, which the company says have deeper shadow bands and higher contrast, will initially be launched into IKO’s Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest regions.
Cable Railing Hardware from Atlantis Rail Systems
Atlantis Rail Systems has created new cable railing fittings that are designed to be concealed inside the post. These fittings are ideal for applications where a “through post” look is desired for minimal to no obstruction. The flush fittings are available for both the RailEasyTM and HandiSwageTM lines of cable railing systems. Using the RailEasy and HandiSwage Flush Fittings affords two major benefits: Atlantis Rail manufactures two different styles of flush fittings, one for RailEasy systems and another for HandiSwage. The RailEasy Flush Fitting accepts 5/32-in. cable, whereas, the HandiSwage utilizes 1/8-in. cable. Both fittings are made from grade 316L stainless steel for maximum corrosion resistance and durability. They feature a mechanical swage fitting, meaning that there are no special tools required for installation.
