ProVia has announced that the company’s Cherry Ridge facility, located in Sugarcreek, OH, has been certified as a Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) Star site by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).
The Voluntary Protection Program recognizes employers and workers in private industry and federal agencies who have implemented effective safety and health management systems and maintain injury and illness rates below national Bureau of Labor Statistics averages for their respective industries.
Participation in the VPP involves a significant investment in time, equipment and materials by each partner company.
According to Mike Yoder, Director of Environmental and Safety for ProVia, this investment reflects commitment to the company’s core value of providing for employees. He states, “Our goal is always to protect the well-being of our employees by providing a safe work environment where each individual can thrive.”
