R.P. Lumber adds new Missouri location

Edwardsville, Ill. – R.P. Lumber Co., Inc. has opened a new location in Mt. Vernon, Missouri. This is the family-owned hardware and building materials retailer’s 83rd location and its 17th in Missouri.

R.P. Lumber opened its first location in Staunton, Illinois in 1977, and now — based in Edwardsville, Illinois — the company has continued to grow throughout Illinois, Missouri, Wyoming, Iowa, and Wisconsin.

“We’ve always done well in Midwestern towns like Mt. Vernon, and we’re excited to engage with the local communities and earn the respect of our customers,” said Robert Plummer, president & CEO of R.P. Lumber. “We know we’ll have some strong competition, but we see this location as a great opportunity to fill a void and better serve the entire southwestern Missouri region,” he continued.

“It’s important to us that we deliver our ‘Best Service.
