Remodeler Q&A: MSC Enterprises, Inc.

Q: What do you see as your biggest opportunity?
A: Networking! Word of mouth advertising from your previous clients is something that you can’t put a price tag on.

Q: What is the number one problem that keeps you up at night?
A: The labor shortage that this industry is facing right now is a serious problem that will continue to get worse until we can find a solution. We must continue to encourage the younger generations to get an education but also push them towards trade schools or going into the field and learning from your coworkers. Some trades in this industry may not be glorious, but they will make you an honest and respectable living.

Q: What do you wish LBM suppliers understood about your business?
A: The importance of communication between our company and our clients. Many of our clients continue to live in the homes we are remodeling, so it is crucial for them to be aware of when people will be making deliveries or pickups. When we inform a client of a delivery time or something that will be happening on a certain day, it is so important for the supplier to stick to. One small change in the schedule can raise red flags for a client that isn’t familiar with how our industry is structured.
