Tennessee’s Thrifty rebrands as Maximus Building Supply

Collierville, Tenn. — Thrifty Building Supply, established in Collierville nearly 40 years ago by Farrell Evans to meet the demand for building products for simple structures like sheds and barns, is getting a new name.

Since the company’s founding, it has grown and evolved from a small building supply company to one of the Mid-South’s premier building suppliers. Richard Cooper, who took over as owner and president in January this year, thought the name, Thrifty, didn’t completely align with their product offerings and standing in the industry and felt it was time to rebrand.

“We provide building materials to most of the quality homebuilders in the area. We carry top brand names like Marvin Windows and Windsor Windows and Doors, and we provide custom doors through our door shop. Our commitment to our clients has gone beyond supplying materials. We partner with them to ensure their projects run smoothly. No other supplier goes to the lengths we do through every phase of the construction process. Contractors know we have gone and will continue to go the distance for them, so they hit their project goals on time and within budget. That’s the kind of service we provide, and it’s what we are all about,” Cooper said.

The company embarked in a rebranding exploration working with Susan Ewing, owner, and chief navigator at Ewing Marketing Partners.

“Richard knew that if he wanted to grow and be true to what the company represents and how they want to be perceived, it was time for a change. A change that will project the brand going forward, embodying the strength and loyalty they have exhibited for nearly four decades,” Ewing said.

The company has rebranded as Maximus Building Supply. Maximus is the Latin word for “greatest.”

“Maximus fits our company well because we believe we have the greatest team assembled — a team who provides the greatest service to our clients. And we’re not just talking about our sales team or our executive team, we mean everyone — our drivers, yard guys, warehouse workers, administrators, and coordinators. Our team is the greatest because we all have one thing in mind, servicing our clients’ every need. Not only do we have the greatest team, we know we have the greatest customers too,” Cooper said.

The hallmark of the Maximus Building Supply logo is a Cane Corso dog. The Cane Corso is a hard-working, powerful, and intelligent breed that exhibits strength and loyalty. Like the name Maximus, the Cane Corso is there to serve because it loves having a job to do. Cooper said these qualities fit the character and culture of the company.

“While we may have a new name and a new logo to better represent the company moving forward, the foundations of building relationships and delivering value to our clients will always remain,” Cooper said.
