The Detering Company named as Top Place to Work second year in a row

The Detering Company announced that it was named a Houston Chronicle 2023 Top Workplace. This is the 14th year The Chronicle has partnered with Energage, an employee survey company, to published a list of Top Workplaces, and the 2nd that Detering has been recognized.

For 2023, 5,302 organizations were invited to survey their employees, and 200 earned the recognition of Top Workplaces. In 2022, The Detering Company was ranked 79th in the small business category, and this year Detering moved up to 45th of the 100 companies recognized.

“The most outstanding part of working at The Detering Company is the culture and team aspect that permeates the entire organization. People are truly happy here and everyone contributes to that belief,” said Del Westmoreland, Vice President of The Detering Company Houston Market.

On the 2023 list The Detering Company is ranked 45th in the “Small” category, which includes companies with 149 or fewer local employees. Rankings are based on feedback given by associates and returned in an anonymous survey. According to the Houston Business Journal there are over 119,000 small business in the Houston Area. The Detering Company has 144 employees.

Detering services builders, remodelers, and homeowners in a 90-mile radius of Houston. The Detering Company also has a lumber distribution facility and a second millwork location (Weatherford Door & Window) in Bryan, TX. South Texas Brick & Stone is Detering’s sister masonry distribution company that has locations in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.
