When it comes to social media, the building industry as a whole has been fairly slow to recognize the impact of this effective marketing tool. Findings and best practices show that one of the best ways to connect with your B2B or B2C audience is through meeting them where they’re at—social media.

On the 2023 list The Detering Company is ranked 45th in the “Small” category, which includes companies with 149 or fewer local employees. Rankings are based on feedback given by associates and returned in an anonymous survey. According to the Houston Business Journal there are over 119,000 small business in the Houston Area. The Detering Company has 144 employees.

Detering services builders, remodelers, and homeowners in a 90-mile radius of Houston. The Detering Company also has a lumber distribution facility and a second millwork location (Weatherford Door & Window) in Bryan, TX. South Texas Brick & Stone is Detering’s sister masonry distribution company that has locations in Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.

“It is an honor to be recognized as a Top Workplace for 2023. I am proud of the culture we’ve built together as a Company. Congratulations and thank you to our associates for making us a Top Workplace,” said Sar Romero, HR Manager. “The perks vary among companies…But just about all the companies share one common denominator. They offer opportunity — the opportunity to contribute, voice opinions and be taken seriously as well as grow and make a difference,” states the Chronicle.
