Timberlab Named Innovator of the Year by the Portland Business Journal

Each year the Portland Business Journal honors the region’s top manufacturing companies who drive the economy with innovation, excellence and productivity at the Makers & Manufacturers Awards 2024.

The companies nominated shape the future and build what is needed for the next generation. At the event, Timberlab was named Innovator of the Year.
Timberlab wrote the following: “Timberlab was selected for its collaboration and contributions to the new mass timber terminal at Portland International Airport, which opened to the public this year. Our team was brought on early to help coordinate a regionally sourced timber package. We used cutting-edge manufacturing technology to help track every piece of timber from the forest to frame and ensured the project stayed committed to its ambitious sustainability goals. President Christopher Evans delivered a speech on the state of the industry and how mass timber is making a huge impact in our regional economies.

“We are committed to reinvesting in our timber communities. We see mass timber as a bridge between the urban and rural economies. Since our inception, we’ve been committed to advancing the industry forward through smart investments in manufacturing technology and creating new sustainable jobs. Timberlab is bringing innovation and automation to a state with a rich history in timber production and providing a pathway for the future.” – Chris Evans

White Paper: How to keep your business safe during the pandemic

Is your business open or are you considering reopening to employees, the public, or both during the pandemic? If so, you’ll need to make sure that your reopening plan is consistent with applicable local and state orders, and that you are ready to protect everyone in your business—especially those at higher risk—from contracting the virus.

The mass timber terminal at PDX would not have been possible without the thousands of hands that helped bring this monumental structure to life. Our team is grateful to be part of a team of regional leaders and innovators committed to seeing this project achieve what was previously considered unachievable. Mass timber is here to stay, and this project will serve as a testament to the many benefits of building with local and sustainable building materials.”
