Westlake Ace Hardware to build new store in Shawnee, KS

Westlake Ace Hardware announced it has signed an agreement to build a new store in the Monticello Shopping Center in Shawnee, KS. The center is located along highway K-7, near Shawnee Mission Parkway. Other shopping center tenants include Price Chopper grocery store, UMB Bank, Chipotle, and Advance Auto.

When construction is completed, the new Westlake Ace store will feature approximately 12,500 sq. ft. of retail space. A soft opening is yet to be determined, though it will likely be in late 2025 or early 2026.

In addition to offering services such as key cutting and automotive key fob replacement, screen repair, carpet cleaning machine rental, and propane tank exchange, the new Westlake Ace store will sell lawn and garden supplies, fasteners, tools, plumbing, and electrical supplies. The location will also feature several specialty departments and store-within-a-store concepts, selling such leading brands as:

Westlake Ace Hardware currently owns and operates 30 locations in the greater Kansas City metro area and a 29,944 sq. ft. fulfillment center for the Westlake Commercial business-to-business sales division. The retailer most recently opened Kansas City-area stores at 3511 SW Market St. in Lee’s Summit, Mo.,9715 North Ash Ave. in Liberty, Mo., 1185 W. Santa Fe St. in Olathe, Kan., and 6327 W. 119th Street in Overland Park, Kan.
